Pleasant Grove Baptist Church was planted in the year 1881! So, this year in 2012 we are 131 years old. The first location was a few miles away off Highway 29 North below Danielsville. Next, the church moved to its current location off Diamond Hill-Neese Road. The first church building was to the side of the present cemetery where our present parking lot is now. Next, a new building was begun that faces the road and still stands today. An educational wing was added next. Finally, our fellowship hall was built.
PGBC has always been a church committed to its members growth in their relationship to the Lord. Sunday school teaching and fellowship has been a big part of this. Missions education, giving and work has also been a legacy of PGBC. For the last several decades, PGBC has focused strongly on reaching out to the community around us. From busing in children for Wednesday night services to mission projects such as helping to start Bible studies in a neighboring trailer park, we take the spiritual needs of our community serious.
Our current vision is:
To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to become His fully committed followers, equipped to serve in His name.
We are a small church with a big heart seeking to help Christ grow His kingdom.
